I have been in the early childhood field for over 25 years in a number of various settings including licensed child care centers and family child care, while also teaching dramatic play and music classes to children 2 through 12 years of age. The focus of my work over the past 10 years has involved teaching and caring for infants, toddlers and twos, with an emphasis in social and emotional development. It's a privilege to support children in this very important developmental stage where the foundation of their future growth and learning is being set. I am particularly passionate about supporting new and experienced teachers who work with infants, toddlers and twos. When teachers are provided with infant-toddler specific training, and receive ongoing practical support in their classrooms, children, families and teachers benefit greatly. Child development knowledge and healthy relationships are the key to excellent early childhood programming.
